Introducing our new Women in Telecoms Working Group

Dear Members,

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new working group, Women in Telecoms, to sit alongside our existing Industry Developments and Operations working groups.

This group has been created to meet a growing demand from our members to give women working within our industry a regular opportunity to network, share career experiences, discuss hot topics and exchange ideas. Outputs will feed into other groups as appropriate.

We hope this working group will provide a tangible way for our members to demonstrate commitment to women’s development. By encouraging women on your team to join ‘Women In Telecoms’, you can actively support them with their career goals as well as giving them a voice on the key issues impacting our industry.

The inaugural meeting is scheduled for the 4th October at 4pm via MS Teams. We expect to hold these quarterly thereafter and if there is demand, we may also hold an annual face to face event.

We’re very excited about hearing from as many women as possible from your team, so please share this notice in all of your internal communications. They can register their interest by emailing team@commscouncil.uk

The agenda for our first meeting can be found below:

  1. Introducing the new group – How the idea came about, opportunities for personal development, networking and mentoring, and how it will feed into other working groups.
  2. Your input – Discussion amongst attendees about what they would like to gain from the group.
  3. Future meetings –Regularity of sessions.

We look forward to welcoming you to our first session!
