This year Comms Council UK celebrates 20th anniversary and our annual Summer Forum included many surprises to mark the occassion.

The event took place on 26th June from 2pm to 5.30pm in the offices of 8x8 in London, it was kindly sponsored by Simwood.

15:15 - 15:35 From VoIP to CPaaS: Navigating the Shift and Finding New Revenue Streams presentation from Victor Shisterov, Director of Product Management, Voice & Conversations at Vonage
15:40 - 16:40 Fraud Panel - This session opens with a case study from Trading Standards, showcasing how they collaborate with law enforcement, monitor activity, and share data to detect and prevent fraudulent behaviour. A panel discussion will follow, exploring how members can strengthen fraud prevention strategies through effective KYC checks, ongoing monitoring, and active participation in the Trading Standards scheme. Expect practical insights on staying compliant and safeguarding consumers in an evolving threat landscape.

16:40 - 17:00 Apprenticeships presentation & fireside chat with ITP - Sue Langridge and Lauren Holloway, the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals will kick off this session with an overview of their mission and the impact of apprenticeships across the industry. They’ll then be joined by Ralph, a current apprentice, who will share his personal experience as a mature learner and the opportunities apprenticeships have opened up for him. Together, they’ll explore how apprenticeships are supporting career development and skills growth. If available, the session may also feature an employer perspective, highlighting the business benefits of investing in apprentice talent.
