CCUK responds to Peer’s call for telecommunications fraud contribution

CCUK has written to Lord Vaux, a member of the House of Lords, ahead of his upcoming oral question in the House of Lords, during which he will call for joint financial responsibility of technology and telecommunications firms in fraud prevention and victim reimbursement.

In our letter, we outline that the telecoms sector takes extremely fraud seriously, invests significantly in prevention, and works closely with Government bodies, law enforcement, and other partners to combat fraud. We emphasise the need for a collaborative, industry-wide approach to tackling this challenge.

We have also requested a meeting with Lord Vaux to discuss these issues in more detail and to ensure our sector’s perspective is represented in ongoing discussions.

CCUK will continue to monitor the debate and respond as necessary, keeping members updated on any developments or further actions required.
