As the market changes, this panel discussed the best opportunities available for CPs to make decent returns, the market developments that will bring extra value as well as highlighting the markets to consider avoiding. The panel included:

3.30pm - Part 2:  The Telecoms Business Fraud and Data Retention Update

This session provided a summary of ITSPA initiatives to prevent against fraud and options to consider to help strengthen your current fraud prevention procedures. This was then followed up with an update on current data retention requirements that maybe extended with the arrival of the Investigatory Powers Bill (dubbed the Snooper’s Charter) due in Parliament in the coming weeks. The session included:

  • Update on ITSPA's work with ActionFraud from David Cargill
  • Introduction to the ENGO fraud protection system from Netaxis
  • Introduction from David Cargill on the ITSPA/Preiskel & Co guidance on end user terms and conditions
  • Introduction from Leigh Porter, Principal Solutions Architect, Yaana Technologies surrounding the current data retention requirements, potential solutions for ITSPs to consider when complying with law enforcement data requests and an update around the proposed Investigatory Powers Bill and its intentions
