The panel will be chaired by David Cargill (Technical Director, Vonage) and will feature:

Brian Spector – CEO, MIRACL

Tom Rutherford – Investigatory Powers Bill Team, Home Office

Dan Winfield – CEO, Voxhub

This session will touch on the role of encryption in the context of existing ITSP services and the potential impact on proposals within the Investigatory Powers Bill, currently going through Parliament. The panel will provide an update for members on the current progress of the Bill, discuss the main issues of contention and highlight issues for members to consider. It will also explore the other technical options for ensuring secure communications data, whilst at the same time being able to effectively support law enforcement organisations when required.
