The DDoS dilemma

How can the industry defend itself from these attacks?

The DDoS attacks of recent months have kept many a telecoms executives awake at night, ensuring that their own businesses can be suitably prepared to deal with such an event. This session will run in partnership with Comms Council UK and the CCA, and will aim to give further insights into the attacks that took place during the autumn of 2021, while also discussing the mitigation strategies that need to be considered.

Speakers

David Cargill – Senior Director of Product Management, Vonage

David is the Senior Director of Product Management at Vonage. He is also the Deputy Chair of Comms Council UK and the leader of our Operations Working Group, which specialises in technical and security issues such as DDoS.

Colin Duffy – CEO, Voipfone

Colin is an industry stalwart of UK and is CEO of Voipfone, a long-standing UK-based Internet Telephony Service Provider as well as a Board member of CCUK.

Octavia de Weerdt – General Manager, Stichting NBIP

Octavia has been the General Manager of Stichting NBIP since January 2017, an independent, non-profit organisation aiming to make digital infrastructure safer. She is also a member of the Cloud Communications Alliance and has a detailed understand of DDoS security.
