Wayne Mills-Kidals, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Fuse 2 Communications, an independent, carrier-grade unified communications provider I helped establish in 2016 now part of the SCG Group. We deliver voice, connectivity, cloud and Microsoft Teams Direct Routing & Ai services to businesses and channel partners across the UK and internationally.
I've spent more than 20 years in communications. Before co-founding Fuse 2, I held roles at BT Wholesale, Timico and Metronet/M247, building deep technical expertise in carrier voice networks, SIP and VoIP, billing and CDR processing, and carrier interoperability. That hands-on background means I understand the real technical and regulatory pressures facing providers today. From the PSTN switch-off and consumer switching reforms to the move to full-fibre and cloud-based services.
Fuse 2 runs its own global network, and operating it has given me broad exposure to international telecoms, including implementing STIR/SHAKEN across our US operation. Fraud prevention is a particular focus of mine: I've overseen tooling and the know-how to detect and combat telecoms fraud and protect customers using Ai & Machine Learning. We were also early adopters of Teams Direct Routing, and we're now bringing AI into unified communications to improve customer experience and network intelligence.
I'm keen to represent independent providers, share my technical and entrepreneurial experience, and help the sector tackle fraud, AI and next-generation communications while raising standards across the industry.
