CCUK x Home Office webinar: Handling IPA requests

When: 17 September, 2025

At 2:30 pm

Where: Online

We are hosting a members webinar with the Home Office Knowledge and Engagement Team (KET) on 17th September which will provide clear, practical guidance on how members can respond to and engage with requests made under the Investigatory Powers Act (IPA).

This includes what a valid IPA request looks like, how and why they are issued, expected timescales, and the steps that Telecommunications Operators (TOs) should take to properly fulfil them.

As part of their work around this, the Home Office is looking for designated individuals in TOs who can be contacted for these requests, including in case of an emergency. As such, we recommend members attend in order to learn about what is required, and ensure internal operational structures are designed to formally process and cope with requests.

In order to attend, you must be a registered CCUK member. We've already sent invites to CCUK members.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with team@commscouncil.uk.
